Fallout continues after IPL player auction

The fallout from yesterday's IPL player auction in Mumbai is continuing with Pakistan Cricket Board lambasting IPL commissioner Lalit Modi.

Upset that Modi hasn't answered their calls PCB chief Ejaz Butt said he would ask the Pakistan government to raise the issue with the Indian government today.

"I am unhappy that none of the Pakistani players were auctioned in the IPL's third edition. I have also asked federal minister for sports to take up this issue with his Indian counterpart" said Butt.

Shahid Afridi's manager has also attacked the way Modi handled the auction and declining to comment on the apparent snub of the Pakistan players,

"I'd heard that prior to the auction franchises were being advised not to bid for Pakistani players, as the Pak players would not be issued visas by the Indian government, and that is precisely what has happened". he said.

"The Indian Premier League have been using Afridi's name and pictures to publicize the tournament and to build up the hype and he was expected to be one of the most popular players amongst the franchises," he added.
