Victorious Ganguly sees room for improvement
Despite beating the Deccan Chargers by 11 runs Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Sourav Ganguly has admitted his team need to work on certain areas of their game despite beat the defending IPL champions.
Owais Shah (58) and Angelo Mathews (65) set up the victory with a 5th wicket partnership of 130 after the Knight Riders had been reduced to 31-4 after 5.1 overs.
"I think we were pretty ordinary in the first 10 overs in both innings but we managed to tighten things up in the second half," Ganguly said.
"We have some improvements to make, especially with the fielding. We were lucky to get away with dropping Gilchrist twice and it is something we have to work on along with our top order batting." He added
"During one of the breaks we asked Owais to stay till the end because we wanted one end tied up and Mathews was already playing his shots," Ganguly said.
"We felt 130-140 was a good total on this wicket, but the two of them batted outstandingly well."
