Tendulkar lights up the Feroz Shah

Sachin Tendulkar lit up the Feroz Shah with a breath taking half century to help the Mumbai Indians cruise to an imposing 218-7 against the Delhi DareDevils.

Tendulkar batted with style and class, his innings of 63 wasn’t a typical Twenty20 innings of brutual hitting. He found the gaps in the field dispatching the ball to the boundary along the ground in a stylish 32 ball innings.

Having been put into bat by the DareDevils Tendulkar and Sanath Jayasuriya got off to a good start thank in no small part to a poor opening over by Dirk Nannes. The Australian fast bowler conceded 12 runs off his first over which included 3 wides from the first ball of the innings.

The Indians lost Jayasuriya (7) and Aditya Tare (17) early on in their innings but Tendulkar continued his impressive innings until he was dismissed by Amit Mishra in the 10th to leave the Indians well placed with the visitors 122-3.

With Keiron Pollard in their line up the Indians resisted the urge to send in the big hitting West Indian all rounder opting instead to send Indian youngster Ambati Rayudu into bat.

The gamble paid of as Rayudu (34) and Saurabh Tiwary (61) enjoyed a 4th wicket partnership of 71 from just 41 balls to put the Indians in a commanding position.

Although the Indians lost their way a little bit at the end of the innings, losing a handful of wickets, the DareDevils will face a huge task chasing 219 for victory.
