Lalit Modi makes one last defiant stand
With pressure mounting on Lalit Modi to quit or face the prospect of being sacked the IPL commissioner has made a final desperate stand in a high powered game of cat and mouse with the BCCI.
Speaking via the micro blogging website Twitter, Modi said he will not resign. He followed this up by daring the BCCI to sack him saying the only way he would go is if he his removed fro his role as IPL commissioner.
Speculation has been growing all week that the BCCI will attempt to sack Modi when the board meets on Monday to discuss the ongoing scandal within the IPL.
"People pressurising me to resign - I can tell you will not happen. Let them remove me then," he wrote on Twitter. "What we have done has been there for all of you to see for the past 4 years. No one can take that away," he added.
"Media putting stories without verification goes to show how Media can misuse there power. Don't get influnced by all these baseless stories."
"Truth will prevail soon. Trial by media and no chance to present the facts is like the wild west. Wait and the facts will be delivered."
