Big hitting Dynamos win Edgbaston shootout
The Durham Dynamos won a high scoring encounter at Edgbaston after holding on to record a 15 run victory over the Warwickshire Bears who failed to chase down the Dynamos total of 215.
Despite losing Jonathan Trott (4) at the start of their run chase the Bears made a gallant attempt in claiming the victory with Ian Bell in impressive form scoring 85 from just 63 balls which included 9 fours and 4 sixes.
He was supported by Neil Carter (29) and Jim Troughton (33) but with the Bears starting to trouble the Dynamos; Steve Harmison ripped through the home side’s middle order to change the balance of the game.
Having been put into bat by the Bears; the Dynamos set the home side a mammoth target of 216 after Ian Blackwell (79) and Ross Taylor (64)smashed the Bears bowlers around Edgbaston in a 2nd wicket partnership of 113.
