Gladiators collapse in spectacular fashion
The Hampshire Royals tore through the Gloucestershire Gladiators batting line up punishing some ordinary batting to reduce the home side to a total of just 68.
Having won the toss Gladiators skipper Alex Gidman decided to bat first but it was a decision which backfired in amazing style after an inept batting display by the home team.
Having lost opener William Porterfield (5) from just the 7th delivery of the innings the Gladiators threw caution to the wind and carried on attacking the Royals bowlers only to collapse in spectacular style which saw them reduced to 36-6.
Sean Ervine (4-12) lead the way for the Royals picking up four wickets in a devastating spell of bowling which saw him claim a memorable two wicket maiden.
With the exception of Gidman (10) and Jon Lewis (19) no other batsman reached double figures as the Gladiators offered no resistantís to record the lowest total in this years Friends Provident t20.
With the Gladiators throwing their wickets away the Royals bowlers were able to record exceptional figures with Ervine, Chris Wood (2-12) and Dominic Cork (2-9) leading the way.
