Royals cruise to 28 run victory over Gladiators
The Hampshire Royals kept their hopes of a place in the Friends Provident t20 quarter finals alive thanks to a 28 run victory over the Gloucestershire Gladiators at the Rose Bowl.
Having won the toss the Royals batted first and despite losing Jimmy Adams (8) earlier on James Vince (77) and Neil McKenzie (55) steered the home side to a total of 205-5.
The pair built a 3rd wicket partnership of 110 which saw the Royals take control of the game before McKenzie was stumped by Jonathan Batty to give Richard Dawson the break through.
In reply the Gladiators never really troubled the Royals total despite a fine innings from Chris Dent (63) as a low order collapse left then 28 runs adrift.
