Foxes hold on to record vital victory
The Leicestershire Foxes held on to record a thrilling 6 run victory over Yorkshire Carnegie to keep their faint hop of reaching the quarter finals alive.
Set a total of 176 for victory Yorkshire came up just short despite Rich Pyrah smashing 10 runs from the first three balls of the last over.
The run chase started off badly with Adam Lyth (4), Herschelle Gibbs (0) and Anthony McGrath (5) all failing with the bat despite a fine innings from Andrew Gale (52).
Jonathan Bairstow (40) added vital runs down the order but it wasn’t enough to stop the home side slipping to victory.
Having won the toss the Foxes batted first with youngster James Taylor (62) staring with the bat top help the visitors reach 175-4.
