Spitfires upset Dragons thanks to Bandara
The Kent Spitfires claimed a 6 wicket victory to dent the quarter final hopes of the Glamorgan Dragons at the County Ground in Canterbury.
Having been set a total of 127 to chase the home side cruised to victory thanks to Joe Denly (36) and Martin van Jaarsveld (25) who got the Spitfires off to a great start despite losing James Hockley (0) from just the third delivery of the game.
With the foundations laid Azhar Mahmood (30) lead the Spitfires home to secure just their 5th victory in this years Friends Provident t20.
The Dragons having won the toss and batted first struggled against Malinga Bandara (3-15) who stared with the ball to limit the visitors to a total of just 126-6.
