Sabres collapse hands victory to Spitfires
The Kent Spitfires ended their disappointing Friends Provident t20 campaigns with a crushing 59 run victory over the Somerset Sabres at Taunton.
Faced with a target of 142 for victory the Sabres collapsed losing their last 7 wickets in the space of 7 overs after they had reached 49-3 with Simon Cook and James Tredwell both picking up three wickets.
With qualification already assured the Sabres won’t be too disappointed with the defeat but the manner of their collapse will be a concern as they head into the knock out stages of the Friends Provident t20.
Having won the toss the Spitfires batted first with Joe Denly (65) and Darren Stevens (39) staring with the bat to help the visitors reach 141 ahving been bowled out with a ball to spare.
