South Africa benefit from Pakistan collapse

Pakistan suffered a torrid time at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi after being restricted to a total of just 119 against South Africa.

Despite conceding 14 runs off the 1st over the Proteas were always in control with skipper Johan Botha leading the way picking up 3 wickets as the visitors took advantage of some disappointing batting.

Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi was at his explosive best scoring a quick fire 25 from just 7 deliveries but despite smashing 3 massive sixes his time at the crease was ended quickly by Botha in the 10th over.

Umar Akmal (14) and Mohammad Hafeez (13) offered some hope for the former Twenty20 World champions but the tail failed to fire as the home side lost 4 wickets in the space of 19 deliveries to leave Pakistan 98-2.

Misbah-ul-Haq (27) offered some resistantís to help Pakistan reach 119 but on a good batting track South Africa will feel confident to chase down victory with ease.

Having suffered two heavy defeats in their previous two Twenty20 internationalís against England in Cardiff; Pakistan will need to mount a dramatic fight back in order to end their current losing streak.
