Lou Vincent powers Aces into T20 final
The Auckland Aces cruised into the final of the HRV Twenty20 Cup thanks to an 8 wicket victory over the Northern Knights at the Bay Oval.
Lou Vincent (77) smashed 10 fours and 3 sixes during a an innings which last just 61 deliveries has the New Zealand international helped the Aces chase down a victory target of just 136.
Jimmy Adams added 33 during a second wicket stand of 110 with Vincent before the Kiwi was caught by Kane Williamson to give Brent Arnel the wicket.
Having won the toss the Knights got off to poor start losing Brad Wilson (0) and Herschelle Gibbs (5) inside the first 4 overs.
Daniel Flynn (37) and BJ Watling (31) offered some resistantís but the home sides total of 135-8 was never going to be enough and the result now leaves the home sides chances of joining the Aces in the final hanging in the balance.
The Knights go into the last round of games needing to beat the Canterbury Wizards and then their attention will turn to Pukekura Park in New Plymouth where the Central Stags take on the Aces.
Defeat for the defending champions against the Aces will allow the Knights to claim second place in the group stages and secure their place in the final.
