Bailey half century rescues the Tigers

George Bailey scored a quick fire half century to help the Tasmanian Tigers reach 170-7 against the Retravision Warriors at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
The Tigers skipper came to the crease with his side in trouble after losing two early wickets thanks to a double strike from Sajid Mahmood which left the home side 39-2.
Bailey wasted little time at the crease as he smashed a 29 ball half century which included two massive sixes over midwicket, the second of which sailed out of the ground.
Having completed his 5th KFC t20 Big Bash half century Bailey (54) was bowled by Michael Swart after the batsman tried to reverse sweep the spinner to bring to an end his 3rd wicket partnership of 73 with Mark Cosgrove.
Having won the toss the Tigers got off to a slow start scoring just 10 runs from the first 11 deliveries before Jonathan Wells (0) was caught by Luke Pomersbach at mid off to give Mahmood the early break through.
The pressure continued to mount as the home side were unable to find the boundary until the 5th over when Mark Cosgrove dispatched Mick Lewis for 4 fours during the 5th over much to the relief of the home fans.
Cowan (8) made it 5 consecutive boundaries at the start of the next over but that run was brought to an end by Mahmood who dismissed Cowan with his next delivery to leave the Tigers 39-2.
Despite the early loss the Tigers managed to recover thanks to Bailey and Cosgrove who’s 3rd wicket partnership of 73 brought the home side back into the game before Bailey’s dismissal in the 13th over.
Cosgrove (49) quickly followed falling one short of a well deserved half century but Travis Brit (25), Ryan ten Doeschate (12) and Jason Krejza (14) made sure the Warriors would have a tough run chase to book their place in the preliminary final.
