Gilchrist happy with IPL scheduling

Kings XI Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist doesn’t believe the IPL will be affected despite the tournament starting just six days after the World Cup Final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

With the world’s best players already in India, Gilchrist feels they will enter the tournament already adjusted to the local conditions and in turn will perform better.

"The IPL starts right after the cricket World Cup but I don't think that should be an issue," said the newly appointed Kings XI skipper.

"Most of the International players who are participating in the IPL would play in the World Cup. They will be playing in India and it will help them adapt well to the conditions ahead of the T20 tournament," he added

"I believe franchises will give some time to the players to relax. But as I said they will come to know about the Indian conditions."

"With the amount of cricket played these days, I am happy with the two months scheduling of the IPL. The last three editions have been great and I enjoyed it very much. This year itself I would like do the same."
