Warriors hold on to record tense victory
Justin Kreusch scored a half century to help the Chevrolet Warriors record a 6 run victory over the Chevrolet Knights at the De Beers Diamond Oval in Kimberley.
Kreusch came to the crease in just the 3rd over after the Warriors had slipped to just 8-2 but he shared a 3rd wicket partnership of 100 with JJ Smuts to put the visitors in control.
Jandre Coetzee hit back for the Knights with two wickets in the space of 4 balls but Nicky Boje (17) and Craig Thyssen (12) remained calm to help the Warriors reach 152-9.
Faced with a tricky run chase the Knights got off to a good start thanks to Reeza Hendricks (18) and Dean Elgar who shared and opening stand of 36 before Hendricks was dismissed by Makhaya Ntini in the 6th over.
Rilee Rossouw added 30 but a middle order collapse left the Knights 6 runs short despite Elgar (64) remaining unbeaten at the end of the innings.
