Warriors blown away by impressive Indians

The Pune Warriors top order collapsed in spectacular fashion as the Mumbai Indians produced an impressive bowling performance to leave them chasing a victory target of only 119.

Manuf Patel (8-3) lead the way with three wickets to help the Indians restrict the visitors to a total of just 118 despite a resistant 45 from wicket keeper Robin Uthappa.

Abu Ahmed, Lasith Malinga and Ali Murtaza each struck two times as the visitors suffered a torrid time after skipper, Yuvraj Singh won the toss and elected to bat first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

The game got off to a dramatic start which saw the Warriors lose 4 wickets inside the first 5 overs before Uthappa lead the visitors fight back sharing partnerships of 35 with Mohnish Mishra (12) and Murali Kartik (11) before he was caught by Kieron Pollard at long on who pulled off a brilliant diving catch in the 15th over.

Wayne Parnell (9), Rahul Sharma (13) and Shrikant Wagh (2) quickly followed to leave the Warriors all out for just 118 after 17.2 overs.

The Warriors got off to a disastrous start losing 4 wickets in the space of 8 deliveries as the visitors top order collapsed in spectacle fashion slumping to just 17-4 after 4.4 overs.

Jessie Ryder was the first to go when he picked out Sachin Tendulkar on the midwicket boundary at the start of the 4th over before Abu Nechim struck again two deliveries later to remove Mithun Manhas for a golden duck.

With the Warriors on the back foot, Manuf Patel inflicted further damage by dismissing Yuvraj Singh (0) and Tim Paine (2) in the space of two deliveries in the next over.
