Gayle hits out at West Indies Cricket Board

Fresh from joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the remainder of the IPL as an injury replacement for Dirk Nannes, Chris Gayle has hit out at the West Indies Cricket Board.

The former West Indies skipper was left out of the Windies ODI and t20 Squad which faces Pakistan in five ODIís and a t20 International which takes place in Gros Islet later tonight.

The big hitting opening batsman admitted his disappointment at finding out he hadnít been selected for the series after he saw a headline in a newspaper.

"A group of players were selected for a training camp in Barbados, and I never got a call, nobody spoke to me, and I decided to leave it alone," said Gayle to Jamaican radio station KLAS Sports.

"I continued my training programme, and I came to find out via the media that a Twenty20 squad was announced, and a one-day international squad was announced, and I was stunned when I saw a big headline in the newspapers, 'Gayle, Sarwan, Chanderpaul dropped'."

"I have served West Indies for many years, but I was disrespected a lot, and I have been playing under a lot of pressure," he added.

Having been left out of the West Indies squad Gayle took the decision to join the Royal Challengers as an injury replacement for Australian bowler Dirk Nannes.

"This was my ultimate goal, since I did not have a contract, but I was forced into this decision because teams were picked, I was not informed about what was happening, and I did not know what the future would hold."
