Croft and Brown steer Lightning to win
Half centuries from Steven Croft and Karl Brown helped the Lancashire Lightning cruise to a 26 run victory over the Durham Dynamos to keep their hopes of securing a place in the Friends Life t20 quarter finals alive.
The pair shared a 3rd wicket stand of 74 to help the Lightning record a total of 161-5 which proved too high for the Dynamos who slipped to their fourth defeat in this years tournament.
Despite the loss of Stephen Moore (7) and Tom Smith (22) inside the opening 8 overs, Croft (51) and Brown (51) led the Lightning fight back to help the home side record a much needed victory to stay in the hunt for the a place in the quarter finals.
It proved to be a night to forget for the Dynamos after they slumped to just 68-7 before Scott Borthwick (30) and Liam Plunkett (41) led a spirited fight back to give some respectability to the score line in a once sided game at Old Trafford.
