Stuttering Royals keep quarter final hopes alive

The Worcestershire Royals strengthened their chances of sealing a place in the Friends Life t20 quarters finals thanks to a narrow six run victory over the Warwickshire Bears at New Road.
In a low scoring affair, the Royals successfully defended a total of just 112-7 after they restricted their local rivals to a total of just 106-8 as the game went down to the wire thanks to a cameo from Tim Ambrose (27).
Having been reduced to just 53-6, Ambrose led a lower order recovery which came up just short to leave the Bears hopes of qualifying for the quarters finals hanging by a thread.
Having batted first the Royals were indebted to James Cameron (37) and Shakib Al Hasan (21) who played important roles in helping the hosts reach 112-7 after they had been reduced to just 5-2.
